Do you guys thing 11.3:1 compression with a zero deck, small dome piston with AFR 185's and a cam with 552/538 lift and 243/257 duration at .050 would be to much for 93?

i would step up to afr 205's, set timing at 32 with flat tops would be good for mid 11's or lower

i think you can get away with it, my 302 used to have kb hypers with a 200cc dome using world iron heads with 62cc chambers and it was fine which was 10 to 1 compression and smaller cam, your aluminum heads, bigger cam should be fine what is the dome ?

IMO the 185s are plenty big for a 302" motor, the 205's would work good on a full race deal but if you looking for any low end they will be way to big and lazy in a "Street" application. Also don't forget everythng else that will need to go with the Big cam..... Convertor, Gearing Ect.

thats true about the 205's but boy they work good. I built a 331 with 205's with an old ford la mans cam for the street for a friend it all worked well with pump gas.
my 225's are amazing.

Agree the AFR stuff is a great bang for the $$$ and the bigger ones work great on street stroker motors, the bigger the CID the better.
Your leaving a bunch on the table with the Old Lemans cam, But they do sound cool though. I ran a number of them back in the day......

i think the cams tight lsa yet long duration mixed with the 185's will help me pull some good midrange power which is really what im after without killing it up top and having something to at least pretend to be torque down low
I just wanted to get as much compression as it can stand to help get every ounce of power i can out of such a small displacement motor.
