WTF 460ford sells out.....

I just cancelled my Paypal payments also!

Don Roy the new manager of 460ford just gave me a phone call. To make a long story short he refused to sell the website, wanted me to stay on to give my opinion since I knew everyone and said yes there will be changes.

I mentioned about what happend to the diesel stop and he gave me this whole "bigger fish to fry" story. How they just want to be helpful and we might start seeing new advertisments.

I got to think about this.

Somebody better start getting all the info off of there now!!!

Jones this is the same typical corporate bs story, we've all been used and some of will be used a little longer untill their plan and people can be put into place...... I've seen it too many times

Well, shit! I gave money to Chilly so shit like this wouldn't happen. I know it was only $15, but that could have went to gas in my tank, or whatever. I wonder if they pulled my post about Bash DVD's, they prolly won't like us trying to sell them.
I hope it doesn't get all f'd up, I've been hitting that site several times a day for years.

Did he offer to pay you for your help? If not, I know what I'd tell him! If they offer to pay you, go for it! Maybe with your help the site won't be completely trashed. Ads don't bother me, but if every time you click a link a new pop up emerges it can get aggravating. One of my character flaws is that I have a low tolerance for B.S.! Almost all of those sites you listed are mega spam/advertising sites.......

Dam it seems like the more things are going well, someone has to up and change them around needlessly.

With that said, I am planning to take a "trust but verify" approach with the new site owners. I have a feeling things are not going to be any better, and I hope they don't get any worse.

At least Bruno has this place up for us just in case! Very cool, Bruno.

Does anyone know how the classified ads work on autoforums other sites? Are they free or do they charge for them?

I think it's a crock of %$^&*!!!!!!!!!!!! But what can we do now, it's already been sold and we can't go back now. I think it was very wrong of Chilly to do this since we collectively built the BBF Forum.

I've already spoken with Jones about a new site. www.bigblockford.com is for sale (The domain name) but I'll wait and see what happens. What sucks is that everyone knows about www.460ford.com and a new site will have to grow. I told Jonesy that if we wanted to make a new site then I have the BBF Registry with all the main members and I'm sure that we can persuade them into creating a new site with all of the core members.

I tried www.460ford.net and it took me to 460ford.com
www.bigblockfords.com takes me to a small block forum

I think we need to look into buying the domain name www.bigblockford.com Time will tell.

why cause pepole wanna hear what he has to say and they know they will learn something

i am not saying the 460ford site is gonna turn out to be a bad thing but
it may be time to pull out
i am gonna give the new owners a chance but it wont be a bad one
i checked out a few of there other fourms they bought out
and i dont have a good feeling about this

that's another thing that's bugging me, he takes donations to keep the site running and then sells it WTF !! Way I see it he owes a few people thier money back, I'd also be willing to bet you guys who donated never see it back.....and you'll rarely if ever hear from him.... Dave, you may be right about not getting any money back, and it was shity, but if I really look at the big picture, I gave the money in appreciation for all the knowledge you guys provided.

I Know, But it still isn't right to take someones money and do that. Nobody giving information was asking for a dime....... or even a thanks in most cases.
