If he gets the rpm down some and make that thing work for it he'll out run the chassis cert for sure!

It's faster with the hood on it.
What gear and dia. tire does the snake have now?

Red said he was wantin a 4.10 gear.....7800 in the lights lol.
I looked at the DA there this morning and it was like -400' lol.
Fabio,
If he had titanium valves like you (da HeRo) do , and like KY Mustang does in his P-51 heads,,,,then he wouldn't be worried about 7,800 rpm in the lights
Charlie
I don't think he's too worried about it there Mr. Evans. This is the only time he runs the 1/4 mile.Besides,it don't seem to bother the snake. He's still running the $hit out of it.

I.M.O. he should put a taller tire on it....it'll help the rpm and traction both...a win/win deal if I ever saw one

I totally agree .... the only reason not to do it is if a taller tire just won't fit.

Re: Blake da' Snake is Flying at Beech Bend
considering he runs mainly 1/8th I'd leave it be, I'm in the same boat and our next 1/8 mile race is the 14th, the following day is a 1/4 mile deal and I'll leave it be and just leg it out...............Hell I clicked off two 9.0 runs the other night shutting it off at the 1/8th lol.
A taller tire would help in the 1/4 but in the 1/8th I'd bet money it would slow it down some.............and I dont think you could get a tall enough tire on it to make up the difference anyway.
I used to be all about the 1/4 but all we run is 1/8th now, and honestly I'd just assume this b/f race be 1/8th as well, which will never happen as all them turbo buicks wont run the first half lol.
A 1.20 60' in a 3000# car................the bitch is workin', I wouldn't touch it lol.

Re: Blake da' Snake is Flying at Beech Bend
I will add that is in the "mineshaft" air and a very well prepped track........but not to take away from it.
I'd kill for air like that, never happen around here though.

Re: Blake da' Snake is Flying at Beech Bend
Well he told me on the phone that they had run a exhibition jet car down through there, and then some street cars that carried some water out to the line. He said the track has gone away a little bit. Hopefully the track prep will be better tomorrow.

I'm kinda disappointed... with today's technology we should have vids, pictures, autographed posters and everything...available now... someone needs to buy the snakes crew a smart phone.

This deal is on gas....it'll pull a 31". I'd quess he should not have "touched" the struts
Re: Blake da' Snake is Flying at Beech Bend
struts needed to be done to fix the bumper scrapin' problem, if he is gonna run all 1/4 mile then hell yes change the tire...............or gear.............or converter..............or barrel valve lol. A 31" tire over what he has will net about 100 rpm change....it did in my case. With this said I'll bet his current slicks will be done soon, a 13 x 31 is a better choice IMO.
I'd still give up 5 mph in the 1/4 for a once a year race over loosing any 60' at all the other 1/8 mile races.

He aint got after the leave rpm like J Y has.....with proper tuning i'd think a 31" deal will work in the 1/8 mile.
Re: Blake da' Snake is Flying at Beech Bend
i'd bet a 32" would'nt hurt that sob! he's loose'n 60' while it's in the air. gear or tire will help it calm down and go faster.then he could realy get after it on the line.
