I'd get the heads looked at by a pro and new roller cam matched to what you have along with possibly a gear and converter tweak... It'll be cheaper than a full change including heads. That old cam is hurting the combo IMO.
Yes sir,we have been running all motor with the 4.88s,got 4.33s that is going in soon,So that we can get alittle more agressive with the nos tune, and we have a nice Solid Roller for the new heads when we decide which head were going with.,Still, we are ole school, and will keep on tweaking on the MAV.Thanks 1970 maverick.

My ? IS. How can you already have the RIGHT cam, when you haven't decided what heads you are going to go with?
Well ,I didn,t say it was the "RIGHT"cam I just said we have one. It,s in my 514 with C8,s that,s been worked over,Exh. has been raised 5/8ths ,Int. has been matched to scj and both opoxyed,it,s a 14.7.1 comp.engine,Will look for card tomorrow and we will see what you think?Racing on a small Budget!

Just got out of the garage ,this cam is out of my 514 iron headed baby.Im not sure of the exact #s, for its been about 8 years sense we ran it ,280ish and 750ish,like i said,it,s been awhile. Here are the #s off the back of cam R-2861-456-251-10,I tried to find card tonight but no luck!Hopefully better luck tomorrow,I tried to look it up on cranes net earlier ,no luck, will call tomorrow.I did,nt have enough clearence on this set up,had bottom end together ,mocked up top end and only had about 65ths ,so we went with what we knew would work. The valve reliefs were small I thought, the pistons are JE,S.THANKS 1970 MAV

Will that cam fit in the 521? If so, I'd try it...
