I have a few questions I need help with. If I go to a Danny Bee Belt System will I have issues with my motor plate mounting up in the same position?
What are the benefits of going to a belt timing system? Is it worth it?

if your plate bolts between the wp and the tc you are fine.

when you bolt it to the front you will have to build some spacers to gap the distance but that is no big deal.....Enjoy

when i went with a danny bee i was gonna make my old plate work but
i decided to get a plate and pointer from keith and it was well worth it
fit awsome and looks great
if you spend the extra cash on a danny bee you wanna show it off lol

Any bolts/studs above the four water pump bolts are for looks/feel good..... get the four at the pump and the two down by the pan rail.

fwiw my oil pump and stuff is in the way, I couldn't get the bottom holes, so thus why I used spacers and caught the top, I also have one bolt and spacer connecting each cyl head to the plate.

thought you meant something else, make thos from little tubes,works well, some guys just use the 4 water pump bolts

Thanks for the response, my engine is a 557 runing petty good, thinking of a cam change doing the off season, and I was thinking of the belt drive timing assembly, looks cool, but what are the benefits, or should I just wait till I can step up with the big boys with a 600 plus cu inch? Very Happy

it'll benefit you 557 just as good as it will a 600, only down side is the cost, upside is easy cam adjustments, less harmonics, no sloppy chains........looks cool etc.

Well uh....all the more reason to use the bottom bolts...mount the oil pump on the plate.
If one has to do the bolt the plate to the head thing it just means that the front plate is too thin.
