429 Questions Empty 429 Questions

Hello,
I have what I believe to be a 429 in my 50 Ford. Previous owner let water get into the motor, it is now stuck. I will also need a set of heads.
How can I ID this motor? Also have been told that there are differing types of heads for this engine. How would I know what type to look for? I think it did have individual rockers on the old heads.
Is this motor worth rebuilding? Filled up the engine compartment nicely.

Thanks, Steve

The only true way too tell the difference is too check the stroke. A decent set of heads would be the D3,a better head would be C8,C9,D0ve,a even better head would be the Iron SCJ for some applications. Its worth fixing as long as it's NOT busted,or the cylinders aren't pitted and rusted beyond .080 bore w/sonic check.Good luck w/it. Smile
