Re: what is needed to switch to alchol
Just get a complete Enderly or Rons system, They work and are reasonably priced.
I've been kicking it around for my dragster and done quite a bit of research and the injection is much better on hi HP stuff than carbs on alky.

Re: what is needed to switch to alchol
Sell your carbs and fuel system and get the Rons set-up, your looking at about $2100 for everything including the correct pump.

Re: what is needed to switch to alchol
if you are buying new go injection it will be close to the same price as carb and all the extra stuff you have to get for the carb setup plus you can get the 1800cfm tolit and shouldn't need two if you going to run 2 carbs you will be money ahead going with the 1800 cfm tolit
I got lucky on my alky converision going carb and everything to go with the carb but still have alittle over half the price of a new tolit setup if that helps you any

Re: what is needed to switch to alchol
thats not a bad price
now if my lil 528 will take it
i am gonna run my lower end for 1 more season
and than i might go to a 600+cid
since i have the svo block and A-heads i feel
it will work well gonna try for around 1200hp
i was thinking getting all the stuff i need this winter
and eather run it on gas again and stay in my class for 1 more season
run the tunnel ram with a single carb
yep i got 2 much time on my hands today
i have been thinking about doing this for awhile

Re: what is needed to switch to alchol
Yeah...twin 4 inch Flying Toilets will top off the tunnel ram just fine !
Re: what is needed to switch to alchol
twin toilets would work awesome, be sure to get a big pump, 1.0 should do it, you might need a high speed with it on the smaller build but later on you'll have enough pump.

Re: what is needed to switch to alchol
I think a 1 pump would be way overkill. Tuning would be a lot easier with an 0-1/2

into the rons stuff

Re: what is needed to switch to alchol
I'm at the limits of a 0.5 with my junk, if he's gonna build 1200hp its gonna need more pump trust me.
You can always configure the system to deal with too much pump, but not vice versa.

Oh, I agree for 1200hp, but he didn't post that he was making a giant upgrade. He can wear out a 0-1/2 and have it upgraded to a 1 when he gets the BIG need and then not have to worry about chasing the tune until then.

Re: what is needed to switch to alchol
eather way but it would be nice to buy it once and be done with it
but it isnt a very costly up grade so eather way
how about a cooling syetem?
should i keep mine or can i get ride of it
that would be some more cash towards the alky
i run 7al box with a hvc power coil

Re: what is needed to switch to alchol
when i build my 600+cid i will be shooting for 1,200 hp
not shure if the A heads are capable of it of not? i know my 528 will not come close to it
i will be happy with 900 hp on that

Re: what is needed to switch to alchol
Scott at Killer Ron's suggested to me to run my 0 1/2 on my 572, but said it would need to be a fresh pump. That kind of sounds to me a 0 1/2 is at the limit with a 572, with his 600+ in the future he would need a 1.

Re: what is needed to switch to alchol
You need to present it as a net savings, selling all parts you have laying around to help pay for the new stuff and mention that the fuel is about 1/4-1/3 the cost of Q16..... Its all about the SAVINGS to operate the truck and Green Enviromentaly Friendly Renewable Energy !!!

I agree with Freelander, you have to present it as a cheaper, cleaner alternative. In other words baffle them with bull s..t

The added fuel consumption will offset some
of the cheap per gallon savings over gas, in other words it wont save you as much as you think.
