Finally all 3 video's
let's see if these will work:
this is the first run, 31* timing, tune was a bit fat, tire press: 5.75lbs : 1.266 @ 60', 3.635 @ 330' & 5.63 @ 660' w/ 121+ mph
(temp 135*)
https://s1164.photobucket.com/albums/q573/69bluehotrod/?action=view¤t=100_9975.mp4
2nd run: 33* timing, no change... 1.278 @60', 366.9 @ 330', 5.657 @ 660' w/ 121.9 mph
( engine did not have alot of heat: temp @120*)
(sorry , 2nd video is a bit shaky, someone bumped my wife just as Tim left the line.)
https://s1164.photobucket.com/albums/q573/69bluehotrod/?action=view¤t=100_9981.mp4
3rd run: 33* , only chang : tire pres 6.25lbs, engine temp 160*
1.245 @ 60', 3.556 @ 330, 5.519 @ 660' w/ 124.9mph

Re: Off to the Track!!! VIDEO"S...
Damn nice laps for a new combo Terry. Dallas Raceway is a great track, I'm glad they found a way to keep it open this year.
It does look like there is some rear suspension/shock bounce (or possibly sidewall bounce) from the launch to about 200-250 ft out. And there is also some launch body roll. It's hard to tell 100% in the first video because the passenger slick is in the shadows, but the body roll might just be from that slick's sidewalls wadding/winding up too much (if the air pressure was too low). The bounce-bounce probably just needs a little shock valving adjustment, or a little more air pressure if it's the sidewalls causing the bounce.
In the second video from the front you get a better idea of how much body roll there is, but of course you can't see if it's the passenger slick over-wadding that's causing it.
In the 3rd video it's hard to tell 100% because of the increased distance, but it looks like there was less body roll, possibly from the increase in slick air pressure.

Dave, I was hoping somebody would see that too, just to confirm what I was seeing, I need all the input I can get, I have rolled those vids back and fourth 100 times, I think you are spot on about air pressure, Tim has always run 5.75lbs in his tires, however i put 6.25 in them for the last pass, it seemed to 60' better, & didnt bounce, that coupled with more heat in the engine helped.
We have moved the engine back 2" from the previous set up and tied the mid plate/ firewall , that motor has so much torque with the new cam, it is making the car squat& body roll way more than before, the shocks are the old style Koni's, (non adj) with 110lbs springs (too much) will be ordering new Strange with 90lbs springs & also an anti-roll bar for the rear is in the near future...lol but for now I think shocks & more air pressure will help a bunch.
hope to see you at the track soon, come buy the trailer if your out there, always good to see BBF brothers.
Terry
Re: Off to the Track!!! VIDEO"S...
Is Tim's car a 4-link car?
I did notice in the 2nd video it looks like the front of the bottom bars are pointed down hill at quite an angle (if it's not an optical illusion) even though the nose was in the air. Any idea where the instant center is at on the car? If it is in fact a 4-link without an anti-roll, using a longer I/C can sometimes increase body-roll, and sometimes a shorter I/C can reduce body-roll.
Going to lighter rear springs on a 4-link without an anti-roll can also sometimes increase body-roll.
What local tracks do you guys run most of the time? There was rumors that some of the P/M & T/S guys were testing at either Dallas or Kennedale Saturday. I was at Kennedale early Saturday helping a guy get his car certified, but we didn't hang around long enough to see if any of them showed up.

Hi Dave, this is Tim, Terry's brother...yes the car does have a 4-link without the anti-roll bar at this time. Terry and I did that some years ago with some help from Mike Brink at Brink Racecraft and he set it up after we got finished, as to what the instant center is, I couldn't tell you, thats been some years ago and I can't find the notes I had on it. We do intend to put a anti-roll bar on it and a pair of adjustable shocks. We started out with 5 3/4 air pressure in the tires, that was probably to low. The last pass was a 5.51, down from a 5.69, tires at 6 1/4lbs. Terry and I also think that the injection system is a liitle rich, but one thing at a time. We are going to switch to the M-5 methanol, need to call Enderly and see what they recommend for starters.
Thanks for watching the video's and all your input, the more eyes on it the better for the tuning!!
Thank again,
TH
