Re: Track time (Pics) & Video
Thanks Guys, I have been slowly working on this one for a while.
Want to say thanks to Keith Fulp for all the help. I sent him a text late one night (1:00 am) while I was working on getting the crank trigger pick up to line up with the crank trigger wheel, not expecting a response till the next day, but Keith was in the shop and responded asap, after I sent him a couple pics of what I needed he jumps on the lathe and I have parts at my door in 2 days!!! His front motor plate is great so if anybody needs one do yourself a favor.. buy his!!!
You will be glad you did.
The engine is a 514 cid, D1 block , Crankshaft specialties crank, Bill miller alum. rod (6. Aires pistons ,heads are the TFS 325 Power port CNC'd out of the box with a TFS "mafia" intake...(thanks to Oakley Motorsports) all are "out of the box" small roller cam with 1.80 Miller rockers & Ron's fuel injection for the induction.
Powerglide trans
First 6 passes on the car 1st 2 were just half track stuff to make sure all went well...last 4 were very consistant...
et's :
5.65,
5.63,
5.62, all these where in the right lane & a
5.59 only oass out of the left lane...
I was leaving @ 4300 & shifting @6500...

Re: Track time (Pics) & Video
Yes I agree, been thinking on a 1/16 thick lexand to fit over the grill so it still looks stock, all the front end is steel & still has factory head lights. I made it all so it slides off like a fiberglass one piece front end. (its kinda heavy though)cool40 wrote: nice ride! its none of my buisness but if you close that frontend/grille area up you'll be glad you did.
still want to leave the bottom area just under the bumper open though.
Re: Track time (Pics) & Video
My memory is terrible, I do remember talking to you before. After hearing your last name it hit me. Been a while! Sure was nice seeing a fast Ford out, since our bracket Saturdays only have about three, and two are mine. Hargett's car was flying, 4.30's all day, and night. I didn't stick around, but I saw he won the small tire back-half class. Here's the video.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcnmdrhwShg&feature=youtube_gdata_player And notice the car on the flyer at the begining? Not sure why they would show my car on it!!!

Re: Track time (Pics) & Video
In my experience, closing off the nose will likely help aero, e.t., mph and trap speed. My favorite part was that the car was less squirrelly at high speed. Filling the nose of the car with air at high speed kept me busy at the big end of the track. My new car STARTED OUT with a completely closed front end. Just my .02.windsor wrote:Awesome ride!
