Blake, No worries man,
I remember Chuck's build... looked like it's gonna be a real nice car... if I remember right he was doing a '70 fastback ...

69bluehotrod, you must have worked hard to keep that thing that lightweight. If it's 2570 lbs. with driver, and mostly steel body, I'm impressed. My Maverick (considerably smaller car) is 2530 with my 200 lbs. in the seat, and the front end is 'glass. I kept a close eye on weight through the entire build, too. You built a chromoly chassis, I assume?
Cheers are in order for the way you pulled off a gorgeous car.
I bet you sometimes sit in the garage at night and just look at it.
Side note: Who has heard from big Chuck lately? There aren't enough of these cool cars at the track.

Re: Track time (Pics) & Video
Have to give credit to BRINK RACECRAFT for the chassis, everything but the frame rails is chromoly, I have to say I was very surprised when we scaled it with my weight of 254 lbs in the car & it tipped the scales @ 2570 lbs, however there are ALOT of light weight peices on the car...maverick wrote:69bluehotrod, you must have worked hard to keep that thing that lightweight. I have been looking at a glass frontend, from a couple of places & that would lose another 40lbs off the nose & if I'll go on a diet...(lol) drop 20-30 lbs...
we would be in good shape!!!
Thanks for the compliments.

Damn nice ride.
The 69-70 Mustang was/will always be the best Mustang body Ford ever produced.

After 34 years of owning this car I finally put the chrome hood & grill trim on it.

Closed the grill off today for a better aero package.... 'bout like a "flying brick" I suspect...

How is the front spoiler braced? .... I've seen em fold up under a lot of pressure.

Re: Track time (Pics) & Video
I put that spoiler under my Maverick with a bunch of screws/washers/nuts and no braces. Worked OK at 120 mph (1/8 mi. passes)...fast 1/4 mi. stuff may have been a different story, and I'm sure the nose aero of the 'Stang is very different than the Maverick. Biggest headache was loading/unloading on the trailer, as my car is REALLY low. The spoiler took a little beating every time...it's currently not on the car.

Re: Track time (Pics) & Video
Dave I made a few braces & put the under the spoiler to prevent it from floding under at higher speeds.Dave C. wrote:How is the front spoiler braced? .... I've seen em fold up under a lot of pressure.
hopefully it wont be an issue.
