Re: Upgrades to Tweetybird
I'll probably try that Lee and see how it works . I've got some long lines on the front injectors and don't like the idea of them leaking down into a cylinder.I'll figure it out pretty quick on what it likes I hope?? This bigger engine seems so much smoother. It may be the different sound of the zoomies ,but it doesn't seem nearly as radical sounding as the old onecool40 wrote:Dan my block is low on the intake and restarts fine.i dont lean it any before i kill it,i just kill the power and about the time the engine stops i pull the shut off.it starts back easy.56Tbird wrote:It's ALIVE!!! I fired it up today ,seems happy.got to do a little tuning on it.I think I may have to put a primer on it,it's seems to be alot harder to restart than it was on the 557. I put the distribution block on the back of the hat up on top of the intake and it seems to loose it's prime when I lean it down to shut it off. On the other set up I had the distribution block down low on the intake ,it seemed better there??? I'll mess with it some more and see what happens..But it's alive..and LOUD!!

as long as the shut off is pulled and working it's like holding your finger on a straw,it wont drain into the intake.

Re: Upgrades to Tweetybird
Never thought of it like that, but your right. As soon as I started it today the barrel valve was leaking like crazy. I put new o-rings in it in about 10 minutes and cured the problem . I've never seen o-rings as hard as those old ones were! They felt like rocks I'm finally starting to get some pep in my step about getting this car race ready..I just ain't been completely into it with all the cancer in my family this last year.Maybe this will get me out of this funk I've been in!!cool40 wrote:as long as the shut off is pulled and working it's like holding your finger on a straw,it wont drain into the intake.

I don't know how I missed all of this info....but it looks real nice!
I figured that Dan-o would like it topless. The car without the roof is nice too.....
