Can't believe my luck.
Got the new build together and had serious traction problems and still went 9.48@143.5. Changed back to reg. wall MT with tubes and went to MIR for the NMRA race. Car bogged really bad off the line. After 3 passes loaded up and went home. Got home and pulled valve covers just to check lash and found intake on number 2 cyl. had LOTS of clearance and the poly lock was tight. Not good! Pulled intake and found the wheel from the lifter in the valley. Pulled engine and sent cam back to Comp. Also pulled head and found the combustion chamber was clean so it broke right after start up. Ordered new mafia intake and while cleaning it up noticed the runner on #4 was cracked! Now it goes back Trick Flow. Starting to think I'm not to go fast, but that is the price you pay. At least everyone is standing behind there products.

Re: Can't believe my luck.
I know the feeling.I've had nothing but bad luck this year.First ripped a $500 driveshaft in half that ended up breaking my transmission and bending my output shaft.Bought a single a460 intake instead of my t-ram,ran exactly the same.Worked on it all day friday to get my tranny back together and in just in time to go to the track.Made 5 passes and broke a wheel off a lifter ate on the cam, but it got down in the engine and beat the crap out of the rods and bottom of the pistons.I think the pistons will be ok, but i'm going to put new rods in it.I think I'm done with comp rollers.Second failure I've had.I probably had less than 100 1/8 mile passes.

Starting to hear some horror stories on the Comp Rollers on big lobes. Mine only has about 30 passes on them but i'm thinking strongly on something else. Sorry to hear this guy's. If I can help either one of you in anyway, you both have my #.

Are these the regular roller lifters or the new Elite series ?

No the lifters are the Endur X. I think the cam can be saved but still want them to check it. Spent to much money for it not to be right when it was their product that broke. The intake is what surprised me more then anything.[img][/img]

Re: Can't believe my luck.
Hope you guys get things worked out. I have never used comp products always heard they were bottom shelf when it came to engineering. I have always used Crower stuff and on the rockers have used Scorpion on occassion and they have held up.
Guess Im just a Crower when it comes to roller lifters. I have the ones I have ran in the past and I have a new set of scorpions going on this motor.

I had a set of Comp rollers in a couple 466's that probably has 1500 passes on them,BUT the cams were not as big as alot of these that are having trouble.

That's the key Rick the regular comp stuff is not the best choice for big lobes and big springs, when you get to that level it's time to step up to better stuff.

This cam is a .728 lift 270 278 on a 110. Springs are comp. 951 I believe installed at 1.920 so I'm not sure if this is a "big cam" or not. I wouldn't think so but I'm still new at this game.

Thats the same Cam/spring combo that was in the Maverick. It had alot of passes on those lifters.

Re: Can't believe my luck.
Just heard back from Comp. and they seems to think the link bar failed first allowing the lifter to turn. They are grinding me a new cam and sending new lifters so I can't complain.
