Motor Plate Question ....
At what horsepower level do you think motor plates are necessary. This would be in a Pro Stock pulling truck ( hoping for around 850 hp ). I currently have solid motor mounts but I'm concerned about the bolts pulling out or breaking the block.

I agree if you start wondering if something is strong enough time to make the change and I think with 850hp it is time

A motor plate is a great deal, because it is so easy to install and makes it much cleaner and easier to work on. Call Randy Malik and get the one he sells, you won't be disappointed.

Re: Motor Plate Question ....
I sent you a PM with information about the motor plates that I make for BBFs.
Recently, forum member IcallhimGeorge installed one of my plates for an O.E. cover in his truck and from all reports has a successful conversion from side mounts to motor plate, even retaining his power steering and alternator in the process.
Thanks,
Keith Fulp

Re: Motor Plate Question ....
O.K., Front and Midplate it is . On the mid-plate, I already have the Lakewood block saver plate and if I add a 3/16 mid-plate the trans. input shaft won't quite reach all the way thru the front clutch disc. ( runnin' a 2 disc clutch ). How do you guys install your mid-plates ? Pics would help too.
Keith, I'll be giving you a call next week. ( the PM didn't come thru ).

Re: Motor Plate Question ....
If it helps....my mid plates are .100 (or so) thick and 32" wide.
Custom plates are no big problem too.
Thanks
