Street/Strip Edelbrock headed 545 <-- Video
545 -- 4160 lbs -- 10.12 @ 134.8
4.5" Scat crank, 6.8" Scat H-beam rods, 18cc dish Probe forged pistons, Hellfire rings, internally balanced, courtesy of one Adney Brown at Performance Crankshaft, INC.
D9TE truck block, zero decked, ARP main studs, oil passage mods in accordance with Highflowdynamics.com recommendations
Highflowdynamics.com stage one Melling CJ HV pump, 8qt Milodon deep front sump oil pan
Edelbrock CJ RPM heads, 72cc chambers, home ported intake and exhaust, 11.89:1 compression, Fel-Pro 1018 head gaskets
Lunati solid flat tappet cam, 251/260 @ .050, .623/.649 lift, 111 LSA, installed at 108 (3 degrees advanced)
Edelbrock Victor intake, port matched to the CJ entries of the heads, cloverleaf milled out, mild porting on the intake plenum
1050 Dominator, 3 circuit, prepped by Competition Carburetion
NX Gemini twin nitrous plate, jetted very rich with a 200 HP N2O jet.
32 degrees of timing, locked out
Without the N2O running, the car runs consistent 11.05's at 123 MPH. Best N/A time is 10.88 @ 122. It has gone a best of 10.12 at 134.8 mph on a 200 shot.
This is through a C6, 3500 rpm Broader Performance converter, and a 3.89 gear.
The engine runs great on pump 93 octane gas, and it sees a lot of street miles in 100 degree heat with the A/C on. It is a very dependable and streetable combination.

Shane,
You're in luck, just today I compiled all the pics I had of the minitub/frame connector job I did and put them in one photobucket folder:

Hope you find the pics helpful!

what size tire did you end up with and what offset are you using on your wheels (you didnt narrow the axle at all did you?)

IIRC I took 4 inches off each side of the rear axle.
The biggest tire I have run is the 345/55/15 BFG drag radials I use for street tires. They will rub a little under the right circumstances.
The 29.5x11.50-15 M/T slicks fit better.
The wheels are 15x10 with a 3.5" backspace.

Re: Street/Strip Edelbrock headed 545 <-- Video
mickey thompson makes a P325/50R15 in their street radial... that might be a good inbetween... im currently running 275/65 15s and they are at their horsepower limit with my 460... so the new stroker that im planning will definately need more tire... is that the factory gas tank too?
looks great... love the stance of the car... and I like that it retains a certain amount of factory look... I really want my car to look (relatively) factory to the average viewer...

Re: Street/Strip Edelbrock headed 545 <-- Video
The fuel tank is out of a Maverick.
I built the car for 325-50-15 BFG drag radials, but then found that the 345's would fit with a little more work. Then BFG quit making the 345, so I'm SOL now.
That dude in the vette about shit when we went by him with a 30 mph overtake....lol.....
We had been dialing 10.90 all day, and on the last pass I decided to throw the bottle to it and have some fun.....it was a consolation pass anyway, so what the heck!

So the maverick fuel tank is the same length... just narrower?

That's correct, the maverick tank is the same length but 9" narrower.

Re: Street/Strip Edelbrock headed 545 <-- Video
excuse me for the stupid question... but if I buy a reproduction mav fuel tank... do you use the fuel filler off the torino... I havent looked at mine, so Im not sure if it is metal or a rubber hose type. was there much issue in making that work?
