Post  dr's wife racing June 26th 2012, 1:25 pm

I had trouble getting hold of the 60 ft.I ran a 10th to 10th and 1/2 off my normal 60 foots all weekend.Stock susp. and 10.5's worked pretty good.I really had no way to help 60 ft's my car has a reg. old 6AL box in it so no way to pull timing ect. Other than that my old pig went down the track on every pass with only ninor tire pressure shock and antiroll bar adj. It ran in the 5.50 range all weekend without a issue. It has a stock block and 1st gen cobra jet heads.I was pleased that I had a chance to be competative.

you cant do much with a 150* track, my car goes low 1.20's here................we race at night not in the blazzing ass sun....................I did have a 1.26 in the 1st qual session as the sun was going down.

FWIW it was 110* in the shade yesterday when i got home from work, I expect it will be hotter today...............I look forward to days like we had last saturday in TN.

Thanks ,it is a bit of a challenge on small tires with no fancy electronics to aid.I'm trying to decide to keep one car or two.I want to get on the tube car but took my time and $$ to get the fox body ready. The bracket on the rack helped alot but I can still fell the shake. It is driveable now but the root problem is still there. When I get caught up at work I'll get it on a front end machine.I may put the foxbody up for sale later today.

It is a very simple combo. Stock 69 block with bolt caps, block filled to water passagesthat David Cole gave me after he blew it up in his dragster. 1st gen alum cobra jet A429's ported by Blake.Eagle stroker forged 4.3 crank 6.8 rods and flat tops all shelf type stuff comp roller custom grind for my set up. Old motorsport a429 intake that Blake ported. We pretty much built every thing in the shop at my house. NOS cross hair plate had approx 100 hp jets on both sides one turned on by a rpm switch and the other wirh a timer.
It has a glide a 8.8 rear with 4.11 and 29.5/10.5.It would have run better with the 4.56 gears in it,but I forgot to bring them with me. It doesn't make sense how other than on a slick track it is able to recover from spinnig a little better.
A friend asked Daivid "think he know what all them wires in the floor go to?" The answer wolud be yes,but I could streighten them up a bit. Thank's again for the comments.
