Well I hope you keep us updated with your rebuild, I would like to know because I am building a 598 pump gas motor. I am looking to shoot for 1000 hp as well. I have everything except the heads, pistons, cam and push rods. I am looking to run pump gas, it will be mostly street for use and very little track time. The only reason is because we dont have a track here the nearest track is 2 hours away.I also like that fact that 1000 hp on street will be so cool! Please keep me post it on you out come. I was thinking of the trick flow heads the 360cc but I know if they will be too big for the street. I am also using kooks 2-1/4 headers in my for my foxbody I dont think they make anything bigger to fit.
Well it was good hearing from you and please keep me post it on updates.
Thank You. Charlie

Here is a crappy photo of what the f100 front end looks like now. Its mostly mustang aftermarket components. Has dual piston 2002 mustang 5 lug brakes.

Update....
After purchasing an awesome motor and mid plate from Keith Fulp I finally made some real progress on the ford.....(I had to recruit a fantastic local fabrication shop to get me here though.)
I had them mount the engine, stiffin up the front end and build headers.
Im not home yet to see this in person, but from the photos he sent im COMPLETELY thrilled!

well to be honest I have all my parts still in the boxes. I have everything except the pistons and cam for my build I still need to bore the block to 4.600. This is getting very costly. I am still looking at about two grand for pistons and torque plate and gaskets and having the block bored. I bought my heads a month ago and one head was damaged so I sent one of the heads back to pepboys today. I was going to buy heads from lem. But the guy at pepboys give me a hell of a deal That I could not pass up. I could post up some pictures of my parts but that is not the same as showing a build in the process. I am looking around 900hp with the motor. Just trying to get the maximum compression with pump gas. That is the reason I was asking about your build.dirt_worker wrote:Nothing to update.

Here's whats changed since dyno'ing it last.
Ported heads and manifold
Jomar carb spacer
custom ground cam
Kicked out Moroso box oilpan
External Barnes oilpump
4 vane moroso vacuum pump
Custom built 2.25x4 headers that fit the truck chassis
I've been super busy lately but hoping to re-dyno it and get it back in the truck this spring

Looking good man now that it's all painted up. I'm curious to see how much weight you dropped up front. Has to be 300lbs or so. Going with a glide this time around?

Yeah, hoping we took 300 off the nose.
The more I thought about it the more the glide makes sense...decided to just bite the bullet and switch now.
The 1.80 1st gear should really help get it off the line..

Yeah it definitely will especially if you decide to hit this motor with a little spray. I think your problem hooking before was due to the rear suspension set up mostly. It should work great now. Was your last c6 std ratio or the e4od gear set?

I think the soft sidewalls were more the prob than the suspension. I did have the e4od planet in it though.
Since I plan on racing it with Dot tires and 1000hp I feel the pg is a wise choice.
It should really calm things down ALOT!
