EEked it into the 10's at Drag Week TnT - edit: I FINISHED!!!!

Went 10.94 @ 123.3 Pinged like a mutha. Checked the plugs and jetted up 3 sizes. Lanes were closed so I made a few hits on the return road and the afr was 12.5 and no ping. It was kind of a jacked up run didn't figure it ran a 10, but it did.

Very very very very happy with this car right now!

I think I saw Ted (Bird of Prey) walking around today taking pics.

you run pump gas?

Normally yes, but all I could find around here was 91, so I halved it with some 104.

I was running around trying to get my crap together. I saw you and it didn't click until later.

Car went 10.85 @123.8 today. Good enough to put me currently in 2nd in BB n/a. First is CDMBill and his 71 BBF Mustang with a 10.00.

Made the drive to Ennis (380 miles the way they made us drive) with a little trans puking on some of the big hills they ran us up. I think I have it taken care of now though. Car ran excellent, engine stayed cool and actually did REALLY well on fuel. My buddy's 500" 63 Plymouth Fury used a lot more gas than I did today.

Excited to make a pass here tomorrow and hit the road for Shreveport (Gillilam)!!!!

In Ennis today:

One slick had a puncture and would not hold air. Ran the drag radials, and long story short, it went 11.10 @ 127.35 (best mph ever) It went hard right off the line but I drove it on out. My buddy's were all having problems so I did not want to risk breaking it just for a couple of tenths today. Slick has been repaired and we are in Shreveport today. We head up to Gilliam in the AM and I plan to be back on my game and see another run in the 10's.

Unless the third place guy ran a 10.60 today (which I don't think he did) I am still in second with a 10.975 average. I think if I can keep the average in the 10's I can hold on the 2nd, provided I make it to the last day. lol

Bill Fowler went 9.81 I think today, so he is about a full second ahead of me. I wish him the best, he has paid his dues with that car and deserves to win.

James nice job man hopefully you can come in 2nd place.

YEEEESSSSSSSS 10.56 @ 127.38!!!!! 1.47 60 foot!!! Went up 1/2 pound of air in the passenger tire and it pulled the front end, launched straight and FLEW down the track. I got to race CDMBill on that pass so it was even more fun (even though he smoked me) to have the #1 & #2 guys in the class duking it out.... sorta becase he runs 0.7+ quicker than me. haha

Ran it on 93 pump gas and went up 2 more jet sizes this morning because the DA was so low.

My hands were shaking for 30 minutes after. It was a helluva ride!!!!!!!!


We are in Memphis right now. Need to run the lash in the morning to freshen it up. Running at 3000 rpm for hours has loosened everything up a bit. Not much but enough to be irritating.

We were at memphis today. Car went 10.79 @ 124, 1.52 60 foot. Plenty good to lower my average just a bit. Just got to the hotel in Tulsa. It was a lOooooooooong trip today, but they kept us on i-40 most of the time and for that I am glad!!

This car has exceeded my expectations every day. Engine temp was an early concern of mine but it was. very consistent in town and going up and down all those backwoods roads we drove on.

Just have to do it one more time tomorrow and then I can stop worrying about every little squeek and rattle!!!!

have done drag week a couple times and you do hear every little noise and think what is that its a good feeling to make it to the end. great runs you made seen u on the live vid. a couple times

Friday was rained out so TRP said we could run Saturday. Finished it up with a week average of 10.83. Not enough to catch Bill, but my car isn't legal for 9.99, so it was a moot point anyway. I did manage to hold off the silver 55 Chevy and finished 2nd in the Street Race Big Block N/A class. A very exhausting week, both mentally & physically, but it was a helluva good time.



Might need to work on levelling the car out at launch. haha
