Re: I don't get it...
I've only purchased 1 new vehicle from a dealer.
A lifelong buddy was the sales manager and I refused to talk to the anyone else.
The wife and I picked the car we wanted and told my buddy to tell me the best deal he could give me on the car (08 Fusion). I also told him if I didn't like the price I'd leave and not to call me later with a better deal, because I was buying a car that day and didn't care whether it was at this dealership or not.
We drove away with a new car that day with what I considered a reasonable price.
2 months later ford closed that dealership down

Re: I don't get it...
I realize the whole new vehicle price thing, but for me it wasn't totally a price thing. If I'm spending new car money, I want to at least be treated decent. Anybody whose seen my trailer can attest its been a while since I treated myself to something new and nice, and I figure if it's my first Dually then it might as well be new instead of the risk of having problems that aren't covered by a warranty. I have a feeling I'm going to be doing a lot of upgrading of support stuff this year. Last year I spent a lot on the car and figured some stuff out. This year I want to upgrade the trailer and all the other stuff, so why not start out fresh.

Rides good. Has good power, it's getting about 19 mpg right now in mixed driving. I'm happy with it. Nees some step bars, Bedliner, splash guards, and a couple little things then it will be good to go.

The nice thing about a diesel Dodge dually is none of the running gear is made by Dodge, I have friends who have had the half ton trucks and the diesels and all said the gas burners were JUNK!

Re: I don't get it...
I think Dodges are ok, truth be told all three have their pros, and cons. I don't all the sudden think the Fords are junk or anything like that, the ones I drove I liked a lot, I just couldn't get past the smug dipshit car salesman and feel I got a better deal on the Chevy. I get it, a guy rolls in with a 12 year old Excursion looking at 50- 60k trucks in shorts and a t shirt after getting out of my office clothes, and they're like yeah right. I felt like whipping out my American Express and telling them ill take 2, but it wasn't worth the time. I never understood why car salesman all feel the need to be clowns, it's like they don't know their one bad month from unemployment.

My brother bought an brand new Excursion Limited for $70ish k in 05. He had 75K cash in hand and the Ford dealership would not deal 1 cent. Arrogant is an understatement...
