Re: I don't get it...
im sure a lot of people CAN, the question would be how dramatic would the next 45 days be scrambling to get it together. It would be a cash flow and asset disaster, I was being a smart ass more than anything. The whole point of this thread was the the ridiculous way SOME dealerships choose to treat people. Would it have been any different had I rolled in in a Bentley dressed to the nines with a briefcase containing my stock portfolio, asset ledgers, and stacks of hundreds? Maybe then I would be good enough to occupy their time and attention. I would think if anyone would understand my befuddlement it would be you.Lem Evans wrote:Barney wrote:I think Dodges are ok, truth be told all three have their pros, and cons. I don't all the sudden think the Fords are junk or anything like that, the ones I drove I liked a lot, I just couldn't get past the smug dipshit car salesman and feel I got a better deal on the Chevy. I get it, a guy rolls in with a 12 year old Excursion looking at 50- 60k trucks in shorts and a t shirt after getting out of my office clothes, and they're like yeah right. I felt like whipping out my American Express and telling them ill take 2, but it wasn't worth the time. I never understood why car salesman all feel the need to be clowns, it's like they don't know their one bad month from unemployment.
So, you can put 2 new diesel trucks on your AMEX card?.....I wish I had your cash flow.

I cann't complain about the Ford Dealership here in Brooks , walked in the dealership on a monday 4 years ago after looking at a truck (loaded F150 XLT 4X4 )on the lot on sunday , List was $47.5K had a price in my mind of about $35K , got 0 down ,0% financing for 60 months and a all in price of $32500 with tax ( no trade)and drove it away !! Mind you I have 7 Ford trucks registered and have know and worked with the owner of the dealership since '73 he was a salesman and I was a mechanic ( not a parts replacer) at the same dealership

I got a great deal on my last ford 2010 F150....... Got 25+% off and a whole bunch for my trade. A lot depends on the dealer, location for incentives and the local used car market.

I agree Dave.
At the end of the day its your dime and you buy what you want with that dime. The dealer that I have had the best luck out of is the one I use to work for. bought three new vehicles from the and got the best deal .We went to 6 different dealers and five of them where butt's about it.
I wish you had gotten a Ford ,but like I said before its your dime. Good luck

Relax and enjoy your new ride. Fretting about some rude prick is a waste of anyone's time. I suspect it was not the 1st or last time those guys show "attitude". If you want some "justice" send an email to the general manager of the store[s] that mistreated you and share your story.

Re: I don't get it...
I've already spoken with two of them, they didn't seem really broken up about losing a sure sale. Oh well. I got what I needed. Like I said this was the second time, it also happened in 2005 when I was making a fleet purchase of 35 trucks and a personal truck of my own at the same time, even then they were ridiculous and I bought Chevys. I won't try again so it looks like I'm stuck driving Chevys and racing Fords. I can live with it.

Yep, the dipsticks in the ordering department ordered it without the ball hitch in the bed. Why would you buy a dually unless you were going to pull the big stuff? So they had to put in a 5th wheel ball hitch.

I'd be the 'dipstick' that ordered the red truck that should have been silver

Shame, Shame, Shame, you should have been a better informed order placer. I hope you've learned your lesson, and will do it properly next time.
