What will the heads be going on? If not a pulling iron headed class truck, you would be better off money/HP wise to buy a set of stock Alum. heads for the money. You will end up having more money in the iron heads.jmo

As Rick has mentioned and I must say, a set of unmolested factory 429 CJ heads have value!

Dave.

The heads are the iron cobra jets. He has to run iron heads to meet the class rules (truck pulling)& is a good friend of mine. I know you guys will steer him straight. IMO Phillip & Bret are more than up to the task as well as some others on the site, like Charlie & Randy. Any of these guys will treat ya right! Good Luck & let me know if I can help.-A

If these are for a truck pulling engine, be careful not to look for absolute max flow numbers at the cost of port velocity.
A "sewer port" can flow a lot of air but, comes-up quite a bit shy of power.

It is very unfortunate in the street/stock truck pulling classes that a set of production iron heads no matter what brand of truck is like taking a switch to a gun fight. Bret Powell does very well w/cj'sbut the ones in my neck of the woods are in the back of the field. The EX514 iron heads for the BBF is the head in demand for the top runners around here. Good luck and have fun because in the end ,that's what it's all about.

The class he is running in only allows stock production iron heads. The heads have to come from a car or truck that came down the assembly line.-A

That's good, that gives the little guy a chance to be competitive. Rules sometimes forget the beginners.
