Will my D1VE-6015-AA hold up? Empty Will my D1VE-6015-AA hold up?

Post  Chris90Coupe January 7th 2013, 2:23 am

Hey guys, I have a D1VE-6015-AA block that I am building a 512" with. This engine will be turbo'd with a 91mm with a 1.32 a/r. Going in a 3000lb Fox Coupe.

My main concern is the main caps. Will they hold the power if studded? If not, what can I do besides buying another block? This block is in excellent shape.

Thanks,
Chris

I'd consider a better Block, Like an A460 or eliminator one to give myself piece of mind.

It has been sonic checked. Probably around 13-15lbs of boost.

Is this a standard-webbed passenger car block or a thick-webbed passenger car block?
2-bolt mains or 4-bolt mains?
What with the crankshaft stroke be?
How much horsepower are you targeting?
Peak rpm?

Also, regardless of your answers to all of the above questions if I were building such an engine with the passenger car block I would use the OEM main bolts, not the ARP main studs.

It is the standard passenger car block. Thin webbing. I found a company in Ga that makes main caps for the thin webbing.

I will be running a 4.140" stroker Ohio Crank. Bore will be 4.440"

We are planning on making 13-1500 rwhp with P51's

Looking like I am just gonna save the coin and get a good aftermarket block.

Will do! I think you are only a couple of hours from me. I'm sure I'll be making hits at I22, Huntsville and Steele.
