now you know gildes are faster and they don't break why would he want to do that when he can rebuild a c-4 ever race?

already have the c4 with some good parts in it just want to make it a little stronger so was looking for some input on what else to do to it. So what pump do I need to get or use the stock one with a c6 bushing and why not a rollerized 6 gear planet. also I see people using different # of clutches. this is a redneck perf. trans so not sure what all was done other than the reverse manual vb and the pro tree tb with billit servo and deep aluminum pan.

Re: SBF stuff
5 on 5 clutches in both clutch packs, c5 front pump or c4 with the c6 bushing ,deep pan ,large cooler with fan, which ever planet set as long as it rollerized,Kevlar lined bands ,good type f fluid . Keep it clean and clutch pack clearance and band adjustments are important too ! Just my two centsstanggt wrote:already have the c4 with some good parts in it just want to make it a little stronger so was looking for some input on what else to do to it. I know what's exactly done to it. Call the number in my signature and talk to the guy that built it. He now owns Freak Show Performance.stanggt wrote:already have the c4 with some good parts in it just want to make it a little stronger so was looking for some input on what else to do to it. Re: SBF stuff
May not be the best nitrous cam, but should take alot more than a 100 shot. On a 420 inch motor, I doubt he would notice much from a 100hp hit. I would start with a 150 shot and see what it picked up on the timeslip. He did say he wanted to drive it on the street some, so I don't think he is to far off with this cam. Also mentioned, he is still running a stock block. A cam that maximizes the N20 will just add more stress to the block, and, will not run the best, when not spraying. Seen plenty of 302 blocks split in half, at the lifter galley, so I am not recomending, he go overboard on the nitrous either. All cam's are a compromise, when not full race, full time nitrous use, is not their only function. Just my opinion.whitefield wrote:X2 its a N/A cam and 100 shot is all I would want to blow through it . But again it will be fun and you can let us on the out side looking in know how it does.whatbumper wrote:I'm not saying its a bad cam don't get me wrong here. It probably is fine for NA application but it is not a nitrous cam especially on 104cl.stanggt wrote:we did degree the cam to the 104 cl that they told me to. I agree with the cam. I know there is more to be had with a bigger camshaft but will put some time on the motor with the one I have and then call bullit up and have them cut me a new one. If I could get about 700hp out of this motor with a cam swap then I may just forget the nos and have it all motor.whatbumper wrote:If tuned well I would guess between 650-675. If the cam events were right on then it may make more due to compression. It's definitely an all motor cam as is. I don't think it will take a 250 shot with that cam. Not very good cam timing events for a large dose like that.
