piston clearance in bore?
I know that .004 is normal bore clearance,
But, I have a motor with 4.390 pistons and it has file fit rings. All out race only engine... 12.50:1 compression
Will it be ok with .007 to .008 piston clearance?????
what do you guys think, Thanks

loose is fast ! as long as its a race engine and they are forged it will work.

Until you reach "excessive" loose is better than tight imo.

My 460 I had in my Ranger I ran them loose it needs boring but I put a new set of cheapo speed pro flat tops in it and bought a set of over sized ring and cut them to fit and ran it turning it 6500 rpm.
