gonna fire it up FINALLY!!!

Well after nearly two years of ups and downs I'm finally going to light a fire in my new 466 tomorrow. I am somewhat worried about the solid flat tappet cam but It has EDM lifters, I used good lube and have good oil in it so it should be fine! well I will let you know how it went tomorrow.

Good luck I always fire mine up and bring it to about 2500 rpm and let it run watching my temp when it hit 200 I shut it down check rocker arm gaps and readjust hot and let it cool down completey then fire it back up and run it 15 mins still at 1500 rpm let it cool do about 3 15 mins cycles then check everything again change the oil and let it rip.I do all my flat tappet cams this way and never so far have lost a lobe.

That's kinda what I did Jim, I fluctuated the rmp between 2000 and 3000. Everything seemed to go good, used 5 gallon of fuel in about 20 minutes. I have a short video if I can fiqure out how to post it.
