Does your master require the pedal ratio to be changed? I bought one for an 85 Ranger from Advance posted in this thread

I have the UPR adapter to mount it. I have not installed mine yet though.

I just used a manual master from a 1979 manual brake equipped Mustang. It's not as pretty as the aluminum ones, but has a nice feel for braking and stops good!

hoses and calipers / cylinders all good?
What pads and shoes? they broke in correctly?
Pinched Line somewhere?
What are you expecting it to feel like? If you compairing it to a new car its not going to feel the same? Have you had manual brakes before?

I have the aerospace brake kit up front..All brake parts including lines/cylinders are all new...I have ran manual brakes lots of times, but never had brakes this hard...On some of my other cars i used a M/S off a 76 ford F100 and had real good brakes & the best one was for a pinto, but can't remember the year...

I've had issues with pads making it hard to stop in the past.

Re: Disc - Drum Master Cyl ?
I drilled a hole on the brake pedal lever itself 1” above the existing stock location like instruction's said...I just got through rechecking it...Think its the wrong M/S for disc/drum brakes

Re: Disc - Drum Master Cyl ?
I just called strange & they said do away with the p/p valve and use an adj valve for the rear and a T..I read somewhere you could gut the stock p/p valve ...Anyone have any info on this ?

The part number I gave in the link is an aluminum unit, it is identical to a cast unit but aluminum it does not require a proportioning valve.
Jim that is strange Rich is using one on his car and works great. And his car ids write a bit faster than either one of ours.

It might have been just a bad not saying they are not any good it just didnt work on mine. Rick and me worked on them I changed the ratio on the padel and everything I tried didnt help I had my belley full of the problem with brakes and went and bought the mopar like the strange unit and put on now I have brakes again. I still have it in the barn.

Mine was brand new from Skinny Kid...I took the end plug out earlier & removed the spring/o-ring/plunger...Then drilled and tapped the end plug and installed a 1/8" pipe plug with red loctite...Brake will go down more now and doesn't feel real hard, but will have to back it out and test it tomorrow...I will have to order an adj p/p valve for the rear drums, even though some says you dont need one with this master cyl...
