If you don't mind the limited color choices a simple option is to just use black appliance epoxy in a spray can. It's not as tough as a true "chassis" epoxy spray paint, but it seems to last longer (for me anyway) than the normal spray can enamel does.

My shop isn't well ventilated so I'm trying to not use spray paint. The appliance paint has worked well for some friends in the past though.

The brushed on "hammer tone" looks good and is reasonably durable. Can't see the brush strokes when it dries.

Well, the brushed on paint looks like crap. I guess I'll be masking and spray painting in a week or so. I even tried rolling. Still looks like crap. paint won't level out and flow good.
I did some bead rolling in some tin work. Still have a few panels left to put beads on then it'll all get paint...

Got the tin work and cage painted. Decided to spray everything since I couldn't get the hammertone paint to work well. Went with a satin deep red for the cage. Figured it'd be different than the basic black you see everywhere. Painted the tin work a satin gray and the floor with a spray on truck bed liner. It's textured and came out good.
Reinstalled almost all of the tin yesterday. Need to install the driveshaft and enclosure next then I can rivet down the last few pieces of tin.
Fuel cell, pump, battery and cutoff switch are all installed. Need to pull the engine to tweak the tin on the firewall and paint the midplate. Then on to plumbing the fuel and trans cooler lines next. Then wiring...

Thanks. I got the flexible brake lines all installed, driveshaft and enclosure in as well as the other few pieces of tin work. Onto plumbing the fuel system now...

Looks good! I like the colors you used. I'm surprised the hammered stuff didn't work out for you.ive used a ton of that and never had trouble with it but it's not slick like sprayed paint. Keep it up!

I've been steadily making progress. All fluid lines are plumbed and I started on the electrical too. Should be ready to fire in another week or so. Then I just have to put some new inner tie rods on the rack along with the bumpsteer kit and take it for a test drive. Hoping to make a car show a few blocks from my house on April 14th...

Yep! And I have enough storage elsewhere to keep the lawnmower, 4 wheeler and all of the stuff for the boat so that it doesn’t get cluttered.

I hear you I don't have room in my little shop with out unloading it 4 wheeler, 2 dirt bikes, mine bike, street bike, plus extra parts and 3 bicycles. If I want to put the truck in it I have to unload it out of the trailer then move all the ride toys out and put them in the trailer. Just bought a ezgo golf cart for the wife and girls know she wants to put it in my shop looks like I need to add on to mine.

I plan on this one having all of my tools, a few workbenches and shelves for parts storage. It's plenty big for the Mustang, Futura, F100 and motorcycle.

You will not have any room if you fit all that in there..... didn't I see it was 32x32?

Yeah, it's basically an extra deep 3 car garage. I figure the motorcycle and F100 will be front/back in one stall and the Mustang and Futura will have their own.
I have the Mustang and Futura in a 24 x 32 space now along with toolboxes and work benches. They fit fine. I basically added another single car stall to what I have now...
But we also had a footprint we wanted to keep it all in due to cost. It will have a small 2 bedroom/full kitchen/bath apartment above to be used as an office and apartment when family comes in for the holidays.

Re: Backhalved Fox Mustang... UPDATED 5-31-2018 IT'S ALIVE!!!
Drove under its own power today. Been a long couple of months thrashing to get it ready for the race next week. Still need to fab some new 4 link bars (exisiting ones are too short and i can't get to the factory wheelbase), mount new slicks, get an alignment and put a few pieces of tin in the car.
Also have to do some maintenance to both trailers, trucks, dad's car and figure out how to load everything and what to bring for the trip to US60 next week.
Anyone know how to post a video?
