429 460 distributor

Just noticed the tag on my distributor. D9TE 12127, kinda looks cadywampus. My block is a D0VE-A, the heads are both D0VE-C and the intake manifold is D0VE 9425-B. I have not checked the crank but I think this is a 429 from a torino.

I've done some research and found that the distributor is from a 351/390. The truck runs fine. But I'm wondering if it will cause future problems?

Don't worry about the looks,thats just the way they are,they tend to tilt to the passenger side abit. 351C/mod/400/and 429/460 will interchange. 351w are different. 332/352/390/427/428 are in the FE family .They WILL NOT interchange to the 385 series.

Just changed the water pump today and noticed that. Thanks for the info.

A 351W distributor will fit but needs the 460 gear installed at the correct height.

i think winsor and FE motors have1/4" hex oil pump drives, while cleveland and 429/460 motors have 5/16" hex drive, so check before swapping !!

351W are the same hex as the BBF.
