You know how they were when you sent them ... do you know how they were when they RECEIVED them...?
NOT the same thing...
Exactly how much money did you pay them...?

You building a show piece or a race car?
Hit the ends with a buffer and be happy....... The intake face is irrelivant and the scratches on the decks look like shipping damage.

What is it you are trying to show in the 3rd pic ?
I ask , because the "discoloration" in the middle of the pic looks like corrosion cause by water in a cooling system...

What does it matter if it's a show car or a race car, I wouldn't want my goodies scratched up.QtrWarrior wrote:X 2dfree383 wrote:You building a show piece or a race car?

That's why you tape up the finished surfaces before you do any work for a customer.
I agree with Randy It could have been done in shipping though. I would give TEA the benefit of the doubt until proven.

I would have understood what your saying if he would have called me and told me they were...No mention of damage at all , the 10 or 11 weeks they kept them at all..I would have called the cust as soon as the heads arrived if they were damage ....And ups has already backed me up on how good they were packaged when they left..Would had to been a 10 car pileup and ran over by a train after the way i had them packed...

What a bunch of dicks, saying that is ok for someone to handle something you paid hard earned money for like that is about like saying don't get mad if you took your brand new car to be detailed and they dried it with emery cloth!

Maybe it's a matter of personal preference and/or what's really important relative to the application, but frankly if I had a brand new set of heads for a personal racing engine and they came back to me scratched like this I wouldn't give a ratt's ass as long as they did for the engine what they were supposed to do. Cleaning up a few scratches is no big deal. If it were something I couldn't handle on my own (and blending scratches from aluminum is easy for me) and cosmetics did matter, then I might ask the second party to fix the oversight.colormebad wrote:Just got my heads back from TEA all scratched up.....
Instead, what I do see is a guy plastering his complaint all over the internet instead of negotiating his concern to some sort of mutual satisfaction directly with the second party involved.

STORIES from both sides do not jive at all. COMPLETELY different.bigblok2000ranger wrote: saying that is ok for someone to handle something you paid hard earned money for
We have never been told about how much money was spent here ... could be "0" for all anybody knows.
That is what TEA said on the "bullet".
Money!
4,900 to start with..When i first bought them...They were brand new and were in the box in the house till i got ready to sit them on....Between the 2 business i have spent almost 4,000 out of pocket on 2 new blocks screwed up/head screwups..It never ends and take too long to type..I have too many friends that seen all this in person to know who the hones person is..UPS knows me well, even 2 of the ups guys are fellow racers..They have my back on the lie that the heads came that way to them..My engine was flawless

Re: Just got my heads back from TEA all scratched up.....
Okay guys, I went to the Yellow Bullet and tried to read the 23 pages of colormebad's post. It seems to me that they weren't new heads, but used, that they dated back to 2007, were ordered by somebody else (BB&T) and that TEA bent over backwards trying to help him out. Still not sure whether the valves were Victory or Ferrea. At the end of the day, it seems to me that colormebad has a chickenshit complaint about some Scotchbrite scratches on the ends of the heads. Bottom line,,,,colormebad is the kind of customer that you can never please, even if you were Jesus Christ and perfect.

I wasn't trying to say that they shouldn't have exercised "due care" in handling his heads..... BUT..
With the exception of the 2 "marks" near the threaded hole in pic #1, There is nothing there that 5 minutes with some red scot-brite
couldn't fix.. and that's doing it by hand...
And unless they are ALOT worse in person, I bet those 2 marks could be hand worked also...
