Bracket/s to mount a mech. fuel pump and an alternator
Can someone help me out here. I was going to mount an alternator and belt driven fuel pump on the pass. side of the crank and a vac. pump on the drivers side. I am having trouble locating a suitable solution for the 2 on the pass. side. The brackets I find for one or the other want to use the 2 bolts on the water pump.
I can take the extra time to design a fancy bracket, but If I can find a solution already done, I'd jump on it.

The alternator should not require an enormous amount of effort to mount with production mounts. The mechanical fuel pump may require a bit of fabrication. My suggestion is to mount the alternator first and then locate the pump, the "fab book" may help!

And remember that the alternator can be mounted facing toward the rear. That will sometimes free up some needed space.

On mine I have those three items. My fuel pump is mounted with a Ron's bracket off the water pump bolt holes (using all thread studs).
The vac pump came with a bracket that is mounted directly to the motor plate. Most brands of vac pumps have a bracket to do this. The alternator is also mounted directly to the plate with no bracket needed.

thanks for the ideas. I was planning to add a front plate later, but may have to just go ahead and get with Keith now as it would probably simplify things.

DAng man, we're gonna have twins.. lol I have the same terminator injection setup will have everything mounted this weekend. What did you use for an oil cap on that right valve cover?David Cole wrote:On mine I have those three items. The oil fill cap:

Btw....with careful placement of the Vac pump mine is set up so the fuel pump and Vac pump use the same length belt. Only need to carry one spare.
My motor plate is by Keith Fulp.

Horsie if I may offer a suggestion? We mount several items to the engine via a front plate. The items as you mention. If a front plate can be incorporated within your application I would strongly suggest now would be a good time. Makes mounting all that stuff much easier! Call Ole Saint Keith and have his Elves to start carving out that plate. Only nineteen days until Christmas!
