Who is "a lot of people" ?
Any chance some of them are in biz selling other brand cranks?
My 598 is well over 1000 hp NA and has been sprayed another 300 on top of that. Scat forging and h beams with upgraded bolts.
There are numerous members here with 1000 hp Scat deals.

IF you are gonna base your engine and simply race the highest air-flow numbers, you will be a loser from the start.

Re: scat 4.5 crank
I've enjoyed watching this thread de-rail! And I'm no engineer/builder, but I sure don't see many SCJ's builds posting power #'s topping the P-51's, OTB or otherwise. From what I've learned, the p-51 is modeled AFTER a modified SCJ in the first place, it would only make sense that this is a step up the ladder as far as airflow quality and #'s go.

AND,valve train geometry AND, combustion chamber shape AND, casting thickness integrity - to mention some other upgrades.
Re: scat 4.5 crank
. The worst I have seen is high 380s and it takes very little porting to get them to 411.MustangDan wrote:And no its people that has built and raced a lot of bbf scj flow 411@700 ported box p flow 360 ish out the box

They are.
I have several in stock. If anyone has a picture of a Scat crank to post, I can orient the Lunati in the same fashion and take a picture.....call it a virtual side by side comparison.

The last three crankshafts I have sold were forged Lunati....the finish of them is very nice.

What was changed on the valvetrain geometry? I've seen the P51 and SCJ guideplates side by side and they look similar but one wouldn't bolt to the other head and vice versa. How far are the valves moved around?

The valves are not moved but, they are longer and the studs are at a slightly different angle which is why a different "girdle" is necessary.
