Bearing Wear Question
Hey guys. I was pulling apart a 460 I'm going to turn into a 521 and I noticed what I thought was strange main bearing wear. Number 1 was showing copper on the upper shell but okay on the bottom. The rest of the mains showed no copper at all. What the heck would cause that?
Here's some pics.

Tight belts
A couple of years ago I put new main bearings in my buddys 390 pickup .This was with the engine in the vehicle so I was doing the old "roll the bearings in" trick I couldnt get the top front bearing to come out .After a little pondering I loosened the belts and the front bearing came right out .And it looked pretty much like yours.doug
