Bearing check question
A friend of mine pulled a couple mains to look at the bearings. They looked like new. Should he just put a little lube on them and torque to the same specs when first put together or is there a better way? He is a little apprehensive about this whole look inside thing.

if the bearings are happy put them back in and retorque

That was my opinion as well. You have to know how thorough this guy is. Sometimes it's scary.

I took one of my main bearing caps off and just like your buddy it looked like new. Decided to take the rest of them off including the conn. rod bearings and I am glad I did. There were a couple bearings that were purty scored up.
