Re: Project CIII
Cool Project... with a huffed-up SBF it sounds like "The Midnight Stranger" will be doing some black-tracking.

Are we opening the bowtie denial argument, don't get me wrong Kudos for going with the blown Cleveland top end will be endless, but if a Windsor is a small block so is a Cleveland same bore shorter deck height 9.2 vs 9.5 ...bowtie denial hmmmm

Uhhhh...no....
The block for the blown 302 has been re-purposed...
It's now the base for the new dirt late model motor.
Helps that I have a Cleve blower manifold on the shelf...

Re: Project CIII
Update....
The car will probably be painted Blue Flame Metallic, same as the dragster..
Looks like the car won't get the blown 302...
Now it's either a N/A 420" sbf OR a blown cleveland....

Re: Project CIII
All you need is a stock Explorer 5.0 and bolt the blower on!
You can get a low mileage on for $800-900.
Of take the other 5.0 that you have on the stand......

The "exploder" motors around here we get them for 200-400$ the most we have put on one was 640hp on the dyno I'm not saying they won't take more or less but gots to be on the spot. All stock bottom end with a cam and v/s change.

Re: Project CIII
I think I still have some Cleveland stuff in the cupboard, 3/8 pushrods, stud girdle and roller cam mid .600 lift, probably some titanium retainers too, if you have a use for them.

Stick wit that blown Cleveland, nothing wakes up a lazy oversize port than an overdriven blower...............

Funny you should say that...
Before Dad passed, he talked about doing exactly that..
I was afraid it would make the car too nose heavy...
