Re: New 622 C Head build
We have talked about it , but with the amount of overtime i have been working and finding the time i am leaning towards not dynoing .

Re: New 622 C Head build
It would be interesting to see how this compared to mine with a single 4 on gas vs. this on moonshine and a tunnel ram.

Re: New 622 C Head build
I was planning on running gas , its hard to stomach that when i can can buy 4 drums of alcohol for 1 drum of gas though lol. I will just have to see what the engine likes best i guess and go from there.

It works good too Blake and Lee saw that P51 engine run on injected q16 at music city , it run like champ .I am gonna guess this one will like gas better with that long stroke .

Re: New 622 C Head build
With the runner volume and port velocity of the C head, the Q16 will be the better choice.

Re: New 622 C Head build
We took it out for some shake down runs yesterday with the dds . They run on 4.89 index had a little timing pulled out and rich tune up with single cast manifold on alcohol. It sounds a lot more crisp on gas but I wanted a little data on alky before running on gas with the injection . Packed the front end about 70- 80 ft out and way to high gonna have to make chassis adjustment , 60' not off front tires let put it that way .

Re: New 622 C Head build
Thats hard to say Maverick . I just put a redneck fat tune on it didnt even change nozzles from the 562 and last years slicks were on it with about 80 or so passes. I trimmed a little fuel and it started getting mean . It still seemed lazy on the alcohol , i started it on gas and run it through a few heat cyles . Gonna try and get some new shoes on it and switch to 4:30 gears from the 4:86 this week.

Not yet , in the past my converter guy has always said try it as is so they know where its at. It dont seem real loose though maybe just a touch , now i did switch to a 9 1/2 with the 562 c head engine back some time ago .

Maybe the one you have will work.I've chased my tail with converters to the point I dont even want to go back to the track.

Re: New 622 C Head build
Very nice build! Just curious, what's the bore for this 622? If the crank is 4.75 I'm coming up with 4.5675? ??

Re: New 622 C Head build
The car weighs 2500 and some change , it aint had the wick turned up on it yet . Just made 4 passes on it and 2 of those were to make sure it was plenty rich to keep from huring it .
