Keeping with my luck...
A week ago last Saturday I took the 'Chero over to my Grandson's to take him for a Tim Hortons donut. I wasn't pushing it and the 466 ran like a top.
We buckled in and I hit the key. Upon startup a funny noise came from the motor and I immediately shut it off and called a deck truck.
I just finished pulling the valve covers and intake and so far everything looks good. I thought it might be a roller lifter failure or even a sheared dizzy pin but nothing looks wrong.
I'll be yanking the rest of the motor this weekend to dig deeper.
