No seal protector needed ! Just use a feeler gauge to help with the lip seal on the forward clutch the rest should be square cut seals.

as stated the forward has a lip seal and can be tricky sometimes....

I just smear the seals with a lil grease, and install them with care, no special tools needed

I've not used those plastic discs but they have come in the last few kits. I have a tool I made up, is a fierce of 1/4" tube , the end flattened to retain a loop of mig welder wire. You can buy a tool same. Works well for working around the lip type seal in later C6 forward drums.

Thanks for the replies. I got my kit from Broader so I'll check to see if it came with the plastic piece. If not I'll try a little grease and feeler gauge.
