Cool, development is the Mother of invention...or something like that Factory backed development programs are beneficial to all who back the factory products...share your R&D dollars with us, we matter!

Why doesn't ford put some coin into the 6.2L..? At least the Chevy and dodge are using derivatives of their production engine that are in cars now? Not that I'm against the frpp and nascar stuff..? Hell roush and Bowles did somthing with that 6.2L that was pretty impressive .....?

Is the 6.2L legal to use in that class?torino501 wrote:Why doesn't ford put some coin into the 6.2L..? Re: Fords New 429 Ninja engine.
As a racer running Stock Eliminator, my opinion is that those "Factory Experimental engines/cars" should be in their own class.
While the new cars are exciting, and I love the way they look, I believe NHRA put them with the wrong group of cars.
Should have been in Super Stock.
That 429 CJ engine has:
* CNC ported Nascar D3 cylinder heads
* huge throttle body
* giant .650 lift solid roller cam
* mega high 14.9 to 1 compression ratio
* rated at a laughable 455 h.p. (probably pushing north of 700 h.p.)
Not one single part on that engine is "stock" and/or came on a production vehicle.
Get real NHRA.
That's a Super Stock engine at the very least, but more like a Comp Eliminator setup.
Not bashing the new cars, just stating they should not be mixed in with "Stock" eliminator class cars.

Not yet, but I'm sure it's coming.
Let's see....
A 2015 Cobra Jet with a 6.2 N/A setup with huge CNC ported heads, (with unique casting numbers), around .590 lift cams, 14.5 to 1 c.r and a 150 mm throttle body.
Then rate it at 375 h.p. ( LOL)
