Al my Windstar van had the plastic cowl under the back of the hood I removed it and could get to the rear plug without take the top off the intake not sure if the Taurus has the plastic cowl area or not but if does try that. you can Google it and might find a YouTube vid on how to get them.

Remove intake,... Also remove torque mount and roll engine forward. Tool trucks sell a turnbuckle deal that lets you roll most engines forward (stressing but not undoing lower mount bolts) then remove plugs. 3.1 and 3.4 chevies with the turnbuckle 15 minutes. Without........... bout 3 hours.

Re: Rear spark plugs (2007 taurus)
Hi guys,
I grew some balls and started late yesterday on this thing. Changed the fronts, then got dark outside. Car runs good now, but im still gonna change the rears., Is there any special tools i need for the fuel lines going to the intake? Looks pretty simple. It appears to be enough room to get at them without pulling the engine forward. Are the gaskets o-rings? Can i reuse them? Will I have to re-set fuelll pressure? Sorry for the dumb questions. My first FWD repair job.
Thanks.

I've had the intake off the wife's 2008 a couple times and didn't have to remove any fuel lines. A ratchet extension and 10mm socket is about all it takes. It took me about 30 minutes to pull intake change plugs and put back together. My daughter has a 2002 and you have to take alot more stuff off to do it.
