i'm on here and there just wanted to share. I got a 69 cougar 429, 3.50 gears c6 3700-3750 lbs full interior car.
11.90 @ 113mph na best time I got.
429 .030 Wiseco Domes
H beams 6.605
Procomps with Pbm int. Frpp Exaust.
258/262 @ .50  .640/640 solid lifter
Victor 4150 w/850 Holley
Crites 1 7/8 3.5 collector headers.

Anyway I got a 4.3 crank with 2.5 rod journals, 6.605. and some Tfs 325 cnc'd heads and A new 1050 Qft 4150.
Gonna Take it to a fella on here and let him do his thing and make it eat. Will have a little nitrous to help.

What type of engine build do you want it to be? Track only, strip/street or street/strip! Good luck with the build !


I'm all excited about mine, I'm trying to plan things out and buy everything I need ahead of time but I'm sure I'm forgetting something or buying the wrong parts. Laughing

Strip/Street. I had the 429 in for 7-8 years only 500 miles maybe, mainly strip.

that 1050 aint gonna be enough.. id do a 1250 dommy..
on the other hand im glad to see someone else using the tfs 325's. ive got them to replaced a set of blue thunders I torched. good luck.

Just kidding, thanks for the quick reply on the vid, I miss my 69 Coug's... are you holding something back the video showed an 11.42 not 11.90, the stroke is going to add a ton of power you should be excited it will be a totally new car when you get the new big inch motor int it! Might have a 9 in you near future...how hard do you hit it out of the hole?

That was my second nitrous pass ever. First one I lost traction about 60ft out.
Ran a 12.2 on the only na pass I did that day. thats was the first time I raced the car in 4yrs.
That was a 150 shot

I will go out there and guess you are running somewhere in the neighborhood or 11.5x28.5 tires...I have no idea what rear suspension is in the car (can't see much with the wall in the video) or how adjustable it is, but with the new engine build your suspension (especially rear) will be like it was...on NOS...more hit all the way, torque is an animal. If you are running a stock leaf spring suspension you are going to want to look at that in your near future Wink

You hit the nail on the head. Stock suspention 100% leaning towards caltracs.

Gonna put some 31 spline axles in it with a spool too.
Old car needs some upgrades. Got a 8 point bar as well

I bet that sucker it will run 10.90's in Noble on motor. Provided you can get it to hook.

From the picture it looks like a full interior XR7 with factory tach, and factory air...Nice
I see you are also running the stock shifter, you will want to lose that...you may be able to keep the handle though. Wink

Thanks it's A sports special a dealer add on, door trim and bullet rocker panels. I put an old Sun tach in it,
Heck, it still has a knob kenwood radio and 6x9's. Plan on transforming it over to more race car. Loosing the
A/C behind the dash radio ect.. Been workin on it this evening getting the 429 out

Yeah I made a little progress, Switch from power brakes to manual, took the interior out, and took the cougar over to a fab shop in Owasso for roll bar and shock tower notch. Got alot of new parts. Got a Front plate from Keith Fulp.
