Re: procomp good or bad?
Before this goes way too far. Do yourself a favor and do a little searching. There are tons of posts about the ProComp stuff. Scott J. has done some major port work to get them flowing about as good as a set of D3's, so for a performance head, they are not known to be in the top/preferred head design. As for the rockers and electrical parts, they are cheap offshore knock off parts, and are prone to be plagued by poor tolerances/components.
In other words, you get what you pay for, so save your money and buy reputible parts and be money ahead.

The reason procomp is cheap is not that the real mcoy's are overpriced............

I wouldn't take either the belt drive or the water pump as a gift. Of course I've got a Danny Bee and a Meziere pump...

Re: procomp good or bad?
Not the best parts out there i know of 2 people running the timing cover havent herd to bad but parts are hard to get for them. The heads have there place just not on a race car. The ing.. boxs havent hard anything about them. The rockers I have seen a few people snap the ends off them or push the push rod right though them.
I hope this is the info you are looking for and not just dont buy them they suck....

For what it's worth - if my wife of 44 years gave me a Pro Comp product for my birthday, or Christmas - we would be in divorce court - NUFF said!

Re: procomp good or bad?
I run a electric water pump and belt drive . They're both usuable. I've had issues with both, and it's all because of poor workmanship on tolerances. Very easy to fix. I'd buy them both again. I'm totally satisfied with them. I didn't expect them to be perfect for the money. If you got the money buy the good stuff, but if your limited on budget and can do a little machine work to make them work properly ,they'll do the job. And they look good.I know a few people who think they're so much better than everyone else are gonna run their mouths about it, but that's fine too. To them I say come get your ass spanked by my Pro-Comp stuff

The Pro Comp belt drive is a cheap Chinese copy of the one offered by "Australian Muscle Parts". The AMP unit is a good piece; the ProComp unit is ... well, let's just say less than good.

Re: procomp good or bad?
Like Randy said...the P-C drives are copies of the Austrialian Muscle Parts cam drives . Some of the A.M.P units had unresolvable oil leaks [not all] ...having said that...I can't see a China deal being better .....luck of the draw so-to-speak . If $s are an issue...$75 for a FRPP M-6268-A460 timing set would be the deal .
Re: procomp good or bad?
I'd rather spend my money here anyway, even if it is more expensive. Hell the quality is just a plus...............
