Those Cessna Citation jet airplanes are ugly...I'd never own one of those.....I'll just keep my Explorer....7.3L with a 4" pipe.

Re: The 2015 F150's are ugly....
There's too much techy techy shit in these new trucks for me and they come with something I hate - payments...LOL...I'm a diehard Ford truck guy, wouldn't own anything else but I'm also selective on what engines I'll own...No 6.0 or 6.4 diesels or 5.4 3V stuff for me. I'm in the middle of building a 2005 F250 2wd that had a 6.0 in it. I have a 7.3 drive train from an 02 F550 to re-power it. It's going to be a dually lowered a bit with some 19.5 Alcoa's on it. Going to be Grabber blue to match my drag car. I just scrapped a 99 F350 4x4 dually to get some good stuff for it. My other truck is a 92 F350 cab and chassis 4x4 dually - I repowered it with a 95 7.3 Powerstroke. 9ft dump box and 9ft plow, I wouldn't trade that truck for a brand new one - I love that old beast. Cheap to fix and reliable as hell.

We didn't just put this truck on the road yesterday!
Many vehicles on the road are made of Aluminum, commercial airlines are aluminum...
try this on your steel truck

WHAT??!! You mean OTHER MAKES have occasional reliabilty issues, too??? All we've been taught about trucks has been a LIE??? What world is this...where brands other than Fords must be repaired??? The service techs at other dealerships are in fact NOT sitting around in the break room like the Maytag repairman???? Next thing you know, we'll hear that parts store chains are selling parts for GM's and MoPars...and KEEPING THEM IN STOCK!!!
Maybe we should visit a couple of GM & Dodge forums to see what persistent pains in the a$$ their owners are dealing with.

Re: The 2015 F150's are ugly....
Going to aluminum is probably the smartest thing Ford has done in years. I am curious as to what type of aluminum they used. All of the metal skins on Gulfstreams are 2024-T3 and most planes for that matter. Dent repair is a piece of cake on aluminum, I know, I use to fixed dents, humps, and bumps on $50-60 million dollar jets everyday, plus we did have very specific engineering guidelines on how to perform the repair. That would not be the case for a car or truck.
Of coarse we never had anybody take a sledge hammer to one of them, But, I can think of a few times I would liked to have done it

I'll take my chances.....
Fact is they ALL have issues
I was a huge 6.0 supporter forever. I had done all the mods to mine to get it to live. Makes great power for being essentially stock. But every day is like a repeat of something else. Turbo is all rusted to fuck so that gets a CEL. "Loose" wiring to the Fan control has caused another CEL. The other day coming out of a toll booth the trans is taking forever to shift. Then abruptly goes into neutral like the convertor just shit the bed. Then decided that it is fine. Still shifts funky from time to time. SOF won't engage the hubs due to what I think is a cracked vacuum line(s). This is an 06' with 90k on it. Truck should be mint!
My 03' 150 was ok but it ate a trans for no reason at 100K. Serviced regularly! Towed with 3x! Hell my wife drove if most of the time.
And before you say buy a 7.3, I don't want one for the same reason I no longer use a Big Shot plate or SS Bars.....things have changed and technology is better.

I think that was an optical conclusion on Cougs part
Re: The 2015 F150's are ugly....
I sold my '03 F450 (SuperCab, 4wd, drw) with the dreaded 6.0L diesel with 241,000 miles on it. While I owned it I replaced 1 fuel pressure sensor, 1 HPOP, 2 alternators and did the EGR delete & oil cooler at 150,000 miles. Certainly can't complain about body integrity or comfort, either. Never touched trans, brakes, axles hubs, injectors, etc...was running like new when I sold it. Not all of them were heaps.

That's the thing with the 6.0 trucks, you got a really good one or a really bad one...LOL....There is better technology out there than the 7.3's, that's true - but it won't be around in 20yrs like the 7.3 is now. I'm a licensed truck mechanic for a living, the old stuff is the good stuff. Easier to fix and there is less to go wrong.

Ford is adding 1,500 new jobs at the F-150 truck plant, can build enough at the rate of demand!...
We must be doing something right...
GM and Chrysler are soon to follow with the Aluminum body...

Re: The 2015 F150's are ugly....
I have looked at some 2015's at the dealers and depending on what cab configuration and whether it was a 2wd or 4wd, it made the overall look of the truck different.
So far, I have liked the looks of an x-cab, short bed, 4wd the best.
The 2wd models look like they sit too low or the tires are too small.
At any rate, Ford should make those rear plastic inner fender liners standard issue (those are an option right now)
Without the fender liners, the truck looks cheap.

As of Feb. 1 Ford had 50,703 USA hourly workers. GM has ~ 50,300 USA hourly workers. It's the 1st time since the 1930s that Ford has had more USA hourly workers than GM. Ten years ago GM had about 21,000 more workers than Ford. The USA tax payers took it in the ass for 10.5 BILLION $s on the GM deal...so...if any of you guys want to get you a Chevy/GMC truck....do not let the door knob hit you in the ass on the way out.
