Correct Flexplate selection
Have a 1970 D0VE 429 and I need to know how I can tell if it should have an internal or externally balanced flex plate.
I have been told somehow I can tell from the crank shaft...
Can anyone advise me for sure

Re: Correct Flexplate selection
The spacer behind the harmonic balancer will have a hatchet shaped weight on it if its externally balanced.

Re: Correct Flexplate selection
All 429's are internal balance, therefore there will not be any balance weights on the flexplate.
