Timing chain removal
Having trouble removing the timing chain. I have the top (large one ) loose and almost off.
The bottom gear is on real tite and using 2 screwdrivers like I did on the top one isn't working.
Any suggestions? What tool would be used to remove it?

Do you have a GOOD puller?

Puller - Yes!
I do have a puller. Chain is still on the gear - do I just pull on the backside of the chain?

Got it!
I did rent a puller an it came off just like butter. I tried to use 2 screw drivers, one on each side and no luck at first. The puller did the trick without any damage to the chain. The right tool usually works every time.
The chain that came off was a link chain that looked fairly new and there was not any streach in it. Anyone have any experience with this type of chain? I assume that you could reuse this for a stock rebuild?
Thanx for all the replies.
