Is there any clearancing needed to run aluminum 6.7" rods with a 4.5" crank in a dove block?

Yes and the amount of clearancing will depend on the brand of rod as they are not all made the same in the bolt area.

My friend Wes became a fan of the Big Block Ford engines when he saw me putting together a 557 with aluminum rods in a DOVE block with no grinding. He was amazed.
