rear gear ratio and nitrous
what's the reason for people using high rear end gears with nitrous ?
my car traps at 6700 with a 4.10 and 29.5 tire 1.69 planetarys on a 350 shot , I feel like I need to put a lower gear in to get the rpms up

put up a video of a run it seems your converter is too tight?my car on a 275 radial it is = to the 29.5 tire my rpm is about 7000 with a 3.60 rear gear and my converter is 1000rpm tight.

And the more torque you have the higher gear you can pull. A power adder engine will also reach it's max. out put at a lower RPM than a non power adder combo.69bluehotrod wrote:nitrous= torque!!! higher gear = less violent at the hit.
I'm no expert but I run my car both N/A and on Nos. I back the shift RPM back a 200 to 400 RPM. It runs the same ## without the additional RPM. Mine just seems to hang at the higher RPM. My combo is a NOS combo with a NOS converter and gear.
