f350 prices UPDATE! I got it!
Looking at a 2000 xlt 2wd 7.3 crew cab drw. Its a nice one owner truck with only 47, 000 miles! Its exactly what i want, even white! Are these trucks really worth that much $$$? $18, 000??

If it's in great shape, it's worth it. People can dog a ford all they want, but when it comes down to it, the 'ol 7.3 has set the bar and you can't bad mouth it too much. They may not be the fastest, but they'll hang in there till the bitter end, start up and go home... Lol

Its super nice just needs a set of tires and new window tint.he has several people in line to buy it but if I buy the 45' trailer he will let me have the truck too, for $18000. Trailer needs quite a bit of tlc but it could be nice again.

Re: f350 prices UPDATE! I got it!
I got mine a yr ago 03 with 160k for 15,950.00 Â 4x4ext cab 6"lift new tires..
anything back then with that low of miles was 22-25k for 2wd... that's why I got the 4x4 they where cheaper
plus I go up north hunting in the winter.
Hell with 47k that truck is still New

I gave 12k and traded a diesel f250 in on it. When I traded for mine it had 62000 miles it now has about 96000. No regrets.

I bought a '01 Crew Cab Lariat dually with 159,000 on the odometer for $12,000 back in Jan.. It needs some body work for dents, dings and paint, but it is loaded with options. Pretty good shape for a 14 year old truck.

Im a die hard ford guy but I don't think the ol 7.3 can touch the 12 valve dodge on the reliable and how many miles these old 12 valves can go. Not to mention the mpg they knock down.

The 12V has flaws too, the early ones are known for cracked heads between the injectors and valve seats. Head gasket leaks and the killer dowel as well to go along with the shitty dodge wrapper...LOL....I just bought a 99 F250 crew cab 4x4, 286,000 miles on it. Cost me $6800 CDN, western truck in great shape. Hauled a camper it's entire life. I've fixed a few things to be expected considering the mileage. Re-oringed the oil cooler today as it was starting to leak. I love the old 7.3's, sure you will have to fix them here and there but it sure beats making payments monthly on a new one. The guy who bought my old 7.3 truck sent me a text today raving about how much snow it will push...8500lbs empty and a 9ft plow with a 7.3 makes for snow coming up on the hood LOL

A friend has...
two 2000 7.3's with automatics. Each of them has over 400K miles. Rust will kill them someday.

That price is a bit high IMO but the super low miles is kicker that drives the price up. You can fix darn near anything but you can't turn back the clock so to speak. The seller knows that apparently so you have to decide if if you want to pay for the low mileage.

Re: f350 prices UPDATE! I got it!
the low miles are attractive to me because i won't put many on it either. I have a jeep I do most dd short trips in and would only use the truck for towing. I've only put around 35k on the truck I have now over 5yrs and most were before i got a jeep.jasonf wrote:That price is a bit high IMO but the super low miles is kicker that drives the price up. Re: f350 prices UPDATE! I got it!
sounds like a good deal to me. My girlfriend bought Harold Webster's truck,it had 92,000 on it .2001 model and I had to put both upper ball joints in it. It has a lot more power than my 94 powerstroke. I' say buy it,one with that kind of miles is almost impossible to find.they are really good trucks too.
