I regret trading my 2001 7.3 F250 in when I got my F150.  Should've kept it just to tow the race car around with.  Live and learn...
I don't know about the gear yet.I gota change the oil and give it a looking over.

I changed it over to green oil today and it runs better already! lol! it has 3.73 gears Suspect

Pulling that big trailer the first upgrade I would do is change those gears to at least 4.10. I got lucky, mine came with them.

You'll like that gear change. The engine will still ride in the sweet spot RPM wise hooked up in overdrive...

Also, if the trans has never been upgraded or rebuilt start setting aside that money now. Mine made it to 298,000 miles before it twisted the input shaft. The trans still looked good inside but it got all the upgrades anyway.

trans fluid is next on my list of things to do.I may take it to the guys I know who work on these things all the time and get it looked over. Cool
