Can a D1VE block be a 429 ? Fellow has one but I haven't had a chance to mic the bore.........Thx

Yep..... And it's the stroke that makes a 429 3.59, the bores are the same on a 429-460 4.36.

460 stroke is 3.85

My 429 has a D1VE block with D2 heads and started life as a 2 barrel likely from a Mercury. The pistons where small dish 12-14cc and about 8.5/1 compression even at over .040" in the hole by the compression calculator.

Thanks for the info Guys.....Picked up parts today and now have more questions....1 block is D1VE A2 and the other D1VE A2B...BUT the cranks are 4U and 2YABC

If I read things correctly 1 is a 429 and 1 is a 460.............Am I correct on this ? Thx again

Yes 4U is 429 (all 429's are internal balance) and 2Y is internally balanced 460.
