IDI to Power Stroke swap?

I bought a 1996 f250 for front end parts and the transmission for my 92 IDI. I was wondering how much wiring would have to be swapped to use the power stroke? The 96 has some wiring problems and been tampered with so didn't know how much I wanted to try to swap over

I read that you can get a stand alone computer from a 7.3 school bus? Anyone know anything about that???

Easiest way to do a swap on a later model (factory cpu) is to take the harness and the computer with the engine, and use what you need, bypass or discard the rest.

Alot of the wiring has been worked on before the harnis is questionable. The motor will run for 2 hours sometimes other times 2 minutes and just quit like you turned the key off no spit and spuder. Someone put a plastic tank in it with a aftermarket inline fuel pump rubber lines the steering colum is all tore apart. A buddy of mine bought it and was going to try to get it going he's more mechanically inclined than me and felt overwhelmed after going over it. Maybe I'll just look for a truck to buy the harnis out of and stick the transmission and front end parts on my 92.

Is it a option to use a computer from a 73 bus or no? I here there right on the motor on under the hood basically a stand alone computer???

does the 96 have a automatic or manual if a auto you will have to use the wiring harness out of the 96 the harness will be for the injector module on the fender and the cpu in the fire wall. It will not run without the injector module or the cpu as far as the bus stand alone I couldn't tell you if it will work or not.
