Re: 6.0 Power Stroke Question
module sells for near 700 bucks, trouble is you need to have it programmed by Ford. Not hard to change, just the programming is a Ford only deal.
We change um by the truckload, I think the reflash to put the inductive heating in the injector spool to rid of the cold start run rough symptom has something to do with it. So now rather Ford eat a bunch of injectors they can fill up on 1000 dollar FICM repairs............... spend a thousand to save a few hundred.......go figure.
The tech can go into the datalogger and monitor the FICM_Mpwr pid and tell if its bad or not.

Re: 6.0 Power Stroke Question
My neighbor just replaced one on his 06, and I think mine is starting to crap out. I'm all ears too. I can fix any truck on the place except the '06 SD, and if I live long enough, I might be able to fix it too.

6.0
Yep replaced a FICM already had to wait 1 week to get it shipped in from Michigan and I think I am on the second round of injectors. Lucky it is still on warranty. My dealer said the charge to change out a FICM if you have no warranty is around $1800 to the customer from the dealer. Sounds like a cash cow !!

1800 bucks......your getting hosed The FICM lists for 700 bucks, we charge a maximum of 2.8 hours......thats diag, labor, reflash etc.
They do get put on backorder from time to time so the wait can be legit.

Re: 6.0 Power Stroke Question
Found the problem thanks to the service manager at the local ford dealer here in town, it ended up being a freaking dirty / loose connector to the oil pressure sensor on the passenger side valve cover....... Fixed with .10 of dyelectric grease.......

Re: 6.0 Power Stroke Question
thats why these things are tough to fix over the internet lol. Had one this week come in for a no start......same deal, ICP connector was loose..............guys had been working on it themselves...........anywat water got into the connector and shorted the vref to ground.................truck no run.
You might get a pigtail and replace it, they even has recalls on them way back when............replace many many icp pigtails.
